Our legacy
Mina Du Veloso is a living territory of memory, ancestry, and Afrotourism in Ouro Preto. Restored and opened to the public in 2014 by Eduardo Evangelista Ferreira, it transformed a former ruin from the gold mining era into a space dedicated to heritage education, affective science, and community-based tourism.
Here, the past is experienced and interpreted through a sensitive, decolonial lens. Visits are led by young residents of the Serra de Ouro Preto, who take an active role in heritage interpretation and strengthen the bond between memory, place, and community.
Beyond guided tours, we host cultural, educational, and community initiatives that honor Afro-Minas Gerais heritage and foster a strong sense of local belonging.
Today, Mina Du Veloso stands as a reference for Afro-centered narratives and post-extractive heritage governance — a place where resistance, knowledge, and the future come together.

EXCELLENT Based on 848 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Wellington PortoVerified Interessante, difícil de encontrar é uma entrada de R$70,00 por pessoa. Interessante!
